Great Price on Millennium DVDs

Millennium was one of my favorite TV shows. Ever.

Dealing in apocalyptic themes, secular and religious, the show follows the life of Frank Black (played perfectly by Lance Henriksen), a former FBI agent who left the Bureau after a breakdown. Frank Black sees flashes through the killer’s eyes. He’s now working for the secretive Millennium Group, which employs several former FBI agents, and living in Seattle with his wife and daughter.

During the first season it’s questionable as to whether Frank Black just has a lot of insight into and empathy for the people whose eyes he sees through, or whether he may have some kind of psychic ability. Chris Carter, who created the series (as well as X-Files), stated that Frank Black was not psychic, but it’s difficult to explain some of the things in the first season otherwise.

Over the course of the first season we see more of the Millennium Group (as well as seeing that Seattle seems to have a shocking number of serial killers), and learn that they’re at least morally grey. Over the course of the second season, we learn more about them and Frank becomes more at odds with them as the show enters more supernatural territory and becomes more apocalyptic.

The third season stumbled as the show attempted to recover from the dramatic ending of the second season, and was never quite as tight or interesting as the second season had been. It’s still a compelling show to watch and leaves me yearning for what might have been.

And for now, Amazon is offering it at 50% of its normal list price. Click on a cover to check it out.
