Jericho’s Return?
Ain’t It Cool News reports on TV Week’s article about the return of CBS’s post-nuclear show “Jericho”. After the big fan-based “nuts” protest, CBS renewed Jericho for a seven episode second season which they plan to run as a mid-season replacement. The problem with “mid-season replacement” is that it depends entirely on the success or failure of CBS’ current crop of shows, like “Kid Nation”, “Cane” and “Moonlight”. The sooner one of them gets cancelled, the sooner Jericho is likely to return to the tube.
I haven’t read how the new shows are holding up in the ratings, but “Moonlight” in particular has received savagely bad reviews and on the basis of those reviews alone I’m guessing it may not be long for the world. After all, did we really need another vampire detective? The original was good enough for me.
If all of CBS’ shows survive till Christmas then Jericho will likely return in January.
Meanwhile, Jericho’s first season is now available on DVD at Amazon. Buying DVDs is probably an even more effective way of showing support for a show than sending tons of peanuts to CBS executives.
