Rock is going to save the world (again)! This time it’s “Live Earth”, a set of eight concerts taking place around the world on July 7, 2007. The concerts will take place in South Africa, England, China, Australia, the US, Brazil, Japan and - Antarctica.

The current lineup includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Snow Patrol, Keane, Duran Duran, Snoop Dogg, Lenny Kravitz, the Black Eyed Peas and the Foo Fighters. No word on whether Pink Floyd will get back together again and bring a pig or two. Also, Muse may perform if they can change their concert schedule - they’re currently booked to be playing on Mons Olypmus on Mars.

The whole shebang was announced by MC Al Gore. The web site is up but doesn’t have whole lot of info there yet.
