Terry Brooks (Sword of Shannara, etc) has a new post-apocalyptic book coming out called Armageddon’s Children.

Brooks says: “What’s going to happen if things get worse? What will happen if terrorist attacks finally reduce the world to a real serious war of some kind? I [also] worry all the time about the destruction of the environment, which I think is a big issue,” and goes on to say: “…sent out to make contact with another race of beings called elves.”

Apparently he’s connecting his Shannara series with his Word and Void series… through the apocalypse. I will cheerfully admit that I have never really considered elves in an apocalyptic context before. Kinda takes the wind out of your sails.
